Tillsonburg Soccer Club
May 2, 2020
The COVID-19 pandemic has created a social and economic crisis like we’ve never seen. Our daily lives have been upended, creating a “new normal” that we all cannot wait to see the back of.
The Ontario Government has invoked the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act to close all outdoor recreational amenities, such as sports fields and playgrounds. This includes the Tillsonburg Soccer Park. Because of this order, the soccer park is closed for all rentals and activities for the near future.
Recently, the Ontario Government has indicated that a Return to Play could take place in July. We are optimistic that a 2020 Outdoor Season may actually happen.
Our executive and operations teams have been working hard behind the scenes in preparation for the 2020 Outdoor Season. As is the case every year, uniforms and equipment have been ordered and the facilities are being prepared for the hundreds of youth and adult players and spectators who enjoy them.
We are determined to have a season as soon as we are able. Presently, we are preparing to delay the start of the season until July, and will assess the situation as required.
YOUTH REGISTRATION FEES
Because of the economic hardship caused by the COVID-19 Pandemic, the Tillsonburg Minor Soccer Club executive team has decided to reduce registration fees to $50 FOR ALL YOUTH PLAYERS IN ANY DIVISION. This will also be retroactive, meaning if you already registered for soccer, we will credit the difference on your account to be applied for the 2021 season.
If you haven’t registered your child for soccer yet, you can still do so for $50.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please contact the club here.
