What we look for in a coach
Successful Tillsonburg FC coaches demonstrate:
Commitment
consistent commitment to scheduled training sessions, matches, and team activities.
Reliability and professionalism in fulfilling coaching responsibilities.
Passion for Player Development
A genuine passion for developing young athletes both on and off the field.
The ability to effectively teach, demonstrate, and communicate the technical and tactical aspects of the game.
Leadership & Character
The maturity to serve as a positive role model for players.
Strong emotional self-regulation and professionalism during both training sessions and match situations.
The ability to foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive team environment.
Collaboration
A willingness to work collaboratively with fellow coaches, club staff, and leadership.
A commitment to supporting and implementing the development philosophy and standards of Tillsonburg FC.
Physical Readiness
The fitness and mobility necessary to effectively demonstrate skills, techniques, and training activities when required.
Continuous Learning
A commitment to ongoing personal and professional development.
A desire to learn, grow, and continually improve as a coach and mentor.
Coach support & development
While coaching positions with Tillsonburg FC are volunteer roles, the Club recognizes and values the significant contributions made by our coaching staff. To support our coaches, Tillsonburg FC provides the following:
Ontario Soccer Coaching Certification Reimbursement
The Club will reimburse the cost of required Ontario Soccer coaching courses upon successful completion and submission of certification documentation.
Coach Honorariums
Certified coaches and assistant coaches may be eligible for a financial honorarium to help offset travel and related coaching expenses.
Additional Professional Development
Coaches who are committed to furthering their education may receive reimbursement for approved supplemental coaching courses beyond Ontario Soccer requirements. Prior approval from the Club is required before registration.
